The information made available to parents' on a variety of topics (including sleep) and in relation to their child's health and well being is overwhelming. There is so much information out there, it can be difficult for parents to have a clear understanding of what is best for their current situation and what is best for their child. The truth is, there is no right or wrong answer, all babies and children are unique and have different sleep needs. They also have different sleep challenges for different reasons. Lets not forget about the parents who have different parenting philosophies and beliefs.
While there are many brilliant resources made available to parents, often parents still experience sleep challenges with their child, even after implementing changes in line with the general advice that they have received. This is where the role of a sleep consultant is important. Rather than focusing solely on the behavioural approaches in addressing your child's sleep challenge, I will focus on why the sleep challenge exists. I will take a holistic approach and extensively review your situation to identify and resolve the underlying factors causing a negative impact on sleep. I will work with you to develop a sleep plan that is unique to you, your child and your situation. For our sleep plan to be successful it is essential that you are comfortable with the sleep plan and the approach that we take fits within your parenting style. This method leads to lasting results.
